Preparation
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat). Mix the skyr, shredded cheese, eggs, and pizza seasoning together. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes.
Finely dice half an onion. Heat the olive oil in a pan and fry the chicken strips together with the onions over high heat until the meat is fully cooked and slightly browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
For the dressing, finely dice the pickles, the remaining onion half, and the garlic. Mix them together with the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and vinegar. Then, chop the remaining pickles, tomato, and lettuce into bite-sized pieces.
Spread the dressing evenly over the baked base. Top it with the chicken, cheddar cheese, and fresh vegetables. Roll the wrap up tightly and slice it into pieces. Enjoy!
This protein wrap is a true multi-talent. Since it is made without conventional flour and is based on high-quality protein, it fits perfectly into a modern, health-conscious lifestyle.
Here is an overview of what it pairs well with and the benefits it offers:
What does the protein wrap go well with? (Occasions)
- The perfect office lunch (Meal Prep): It can be prepared perfectly the night before. Since the base made of skyr and egg doesn't get soggy as quickly as a wheat tortilla, it tastes fantastic even when eaten cold at the office the next day.
- Quick fitness dinner: After a workout, the body needs proteins for regeneration. Since the base bakes in the oven while you take a quick shower or sear the meat, dinner is on the table in 20–25 minutes.
- Healthy party snack: Sliced and secured with a toothpick, the wrap becomes the ideal finger food for guests who are mindful of their diet but don't want to sacrifice flavor.
What is it particularly good for? (Benefits)
- Long-lasting satiety: Thanks to the combination of skyr, eggs, and meat (or a vegetarian alternative), the wrap provides a massive serving of protein. This keeps blood sugar levels stable and prevents cravings.
- Low Carb & Keto-Friendly: Since no grain flour is used, the recipe is ideal for a low-carbohydrate diet. It helps save calories without making you feel like you're missing out on "comfort food."
- Nutrient bomb: In addition to protein, the fresh vegetables provide important fiber and vitamins. The cheese and skyr also supply a good amount of calcium.
- Digestive plus: Many people find wheat products heavy or bloating. This wrap is much easier to digest and doesn't sit heavy in the stomach.
