Preparation
Mix the ingredients for the mousse well until no more lumps remain. Pass the mixture through a fine sieve into a 0.5 L Whipper. Charge the Whipper with one charger and shake well approximately 8-10 times. Chill in the refrigerator for about 1-2 hours.
Wash the berries, remove the stems from the strawberries, and cut them into small cubes. Peel the mango and also cut it into small cubes.
Wash the mint and cut it into fine strips. Mix all the salad ingredients together in a bowl and set aside until ready to serve.
Divide the fruit salad into small bowls or glasses. Top with the mousse using the Whipper and garnish as desired.
Here are few pairings for this Lime Mousse.
Classic & Fruity
This airy lime mousse pairs beautifully with all kinds of berries. In addition to strawberries and blueberries, raspberries or blackberries are also excellent choices, as the delicate acidity of the lime perfectly enhances the fruit's natural aroma. For those who prefer a more exotic touch, serve it with a mango, papaya, or pineapple ragout, which harmonizes beautifully with the tropical flair of the lime.
Crunchy Contrasts
For an exciting "cookie crunch," it is best to serve the mousse on crumbled butter cookies, cantuccini, or amarettini, giving the soft dessert a wonderful structure. Additionally, roasted pistachios or slivered almonds provide an elegant, slightly nutty note and round off the flavor experience perfectly.
Pastries and Cakes
The mousse is also excellent as a cake filling, serving as a light layer between fluffy sponge cakes to provide a touch of freshness. It is also the ideal companion to brownies, as the zesty lime cuts perfectly through the rich sweetness of dark chocolate.
Special Occasions
An infusion of fresh mint makes the dessert the lime's best friend, creating a result that tastes like a "Virgin Mojito" in a spoon. This makes the mousse the ideal light finish for any summer party or BBQ, as it is much lighter and more refreshing after a hearty meal than a classic chocolate mousse.
