Preparation

Place the sugar, ground almonds, cocoa, egg yolks and melted butter in a bowl and mix carefully. Carefully fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.

Instead of a springform pan, we used small moulds – grease them with a little melted butter and pour in the mixture.

Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan oven) for approx. 20 minutes, then test with a skewer – the cake should still be moist but no longer runny. Leave to cool.

The chocolate cakes can be served with fresh strawberries, raspberries, etc., as well as whipped cream. If desired, the cakes can also be simply sprinkled with powdered sugar.
