The tank is full as soon as liquid gas spurts out. To be extra safe, do the "finger test" once you've finished to make sure no gas is seeping out. To perform a finger test, moisten your finger and press down gently on the valve. If you feel pressure building up, this means the valve is probably no longer leakproof and you should not use the burner.
