The Monin Dark Brew combines the bold roasted aromas of cold brew with the malty, slightly bitter notes of dark beer and the fruity acidity of blackcurrant syrup. The result is a full-bodied, balanced and surprisingly refreshing drink. Its combination of coffee, dark beer and berry flavours makes it a versatile accompaniment to savoury dishes, bold cheeses and chocolate desserts. Here are a few recommendations for pairings that complement this drink particularly well:

With Savoury Apéro Bites
The Monin Dark Brew pairs especially well with savoury snacks featuring roasted, smoky or spicy flavours. Serve it, for example, with roasted nuts, salted pastries, seasoned crackers or small crostini topped with bacon and cream cheese. Bites made with caramelised onions, mushrooms or dark bread also harmoniously echo the malty notes of the dark beer. Small meatballs, mini burgers or puff pastry bites with ham are equally suitable accompaniments.

With Meat and Grilled Dishes
Thanks to its bold, malty character, the Monin Dark Brew is an excellent accompaniment to roasted or grilled meat. It pairs particularly well with beef, pulled pork, glazed ribs or a juicy burger. The roasted flavours from the grill complement the notes of the cold brew and dark beer, while the blackcurrant syrup adds a fruity lightness to the combination. Dishes with a slightly sweet glaze made with honey, balsamic vinegar or berries are also an excellent match. Serve the drink with small skewers of bacon, sausages or smoked meat. For a vegetarian option, choose grilled mushrooms, aubergines or a hearty lentil burger.

With Cheese and Rustic Accompaniments
The Monin Dark Brew pairs beautifully with bold, mature and creamy cheeses. A strong Gruyère, mature Cheddar, Appenzeller or mild blue cheese creates an exciting contrast to the fruity blackcurrant note. Brie and Camembert are also suitable, especially when served with dark bread, fig mustard or roasted nuts. Complement a cheese board with grapes, pear slices, dried fruit or blackcurrant jelly to echo the fruity side of the drink. Rye bread, pumpernickel or crisp crackers make particularly harmonious additions.

With Chocolate and Rich Desserts
When it comes to desserts, the Monin Dark Brew pairs particularly well with dark chocolate, coffee, caramel and berries. Serve it, for example, with a moist chocolate cake, brownies, mousse au chocolat or an espresso-based dessert. A small chocolate tart with blackcurrant filling also complements the fruity and bitter notes of the drink especially well. Desserts featuring caramel, roasted hazelnuts or almonds enhance the malty depth of the dark beer.

The Right Occasion
The Monin Dark Brew is ideal for a relaxed apéro, a barbecue evening or a modern cocktail gathering. Its bold coffee and malt aromas make it particularly suitable for the cooler months, although it can also be served well chilled on a summer evening outdoors. You can offer it as an accompaniment to savoury bites, after a meal or as an unusual alternative to a classic beer cocktail. It also adds a surprising touch to a beer tasting, rustic dinner or evening with friends.

Garnish and Presentation
For a stylish presentation, serve the Monin Dark Brew in a well-chilled tumbler, a clean-lined beer glass or a slender cocktail glass. The creamy foam should remain clearly visible and only be garnished sparingly. Fresh blackcurrants, finely grated dark chocolate or a few roasted coffee beans are especially suitable. A thin strip of orange zest can also elegantly complement the fruity and bitter notes of the drink. For a more rustic presentation, add a small sprig of rosemary or a thin strip of dried orange peel.
