Preparation:
Stir the Monin Cold Brew Concentrate into the water, then pour it together with the remaining ingredients through a funnel and sieve into an iSi Nitro.
Pressurise the Nitro with an iSi Nitro charger and shake vigorously about eight times. To serve, hold the nozzle at a slight angle against the inside of the glass, press the lever and dispense the drink.
The Monin Coffee G&T combines the bold roasted aromas of cold brew with the floral notes of rose syrup, the freshness of lime and the distinctive interplay of gin and tonic water. The result is an aromatic, elegant and surprisingly light drink. Its subtle bitterness and floral freshness make it a versatile accompaniment to savoury bites, light dishes and selected desserts. Here are a few recommendations for pairings that complement this drink particularly well:
With Light Starters and Apéro Bites
Serve the drink, for example, with crostini topped with fresh goat’s cheese, cucumber bites, mild smoked salmon or small puff pastry appetisers. Antipasti with grilled vegetables, olives or artichokes also pair beautifully with the drink. Small bites featuring herbs such as basil, mint or rosemary are particularly suitable, as they enhance the botanical notes of the gin.
With Fish and Seafood
Light dishes such as ceviche, prawns, smoked salmon or a delicate tuna tartare are especially suitable. The citrus notes of the lime add freshness to the pairing, while the gin and tonic elegantly complement the salty, maritime flavours. Serve the drink, for example, with prawn skewers, scallops or small sushi bites. A light salad with fish, cucumber and herbs can also be a harmonious addition. A touch of lime, coriander or dill in the dish can enhance the pairing even further.
With Cheese and Savoury Bites
The Monin Coffee G&T pairs beautifully with mild to slightly tangy cheeses. Goat’s cheese, Brie, Camembert or young Gruyère are especially suitable. Complement the cheese selection with grapes, figs, pear slices or roasted nuts. Salty crackers, grissini or small tartlets also work well. For a modern apéro platter, combine the cheese with fresh berries, herbs and a few pieces of dark chocolate.
With Fruity and Refined Desserts
When it comes to desserts, the Monin Coffee G&T pairs particularly well with light, fruity creations. Serve it, for example, with a lemon or lime tart, grapefruit sorbet or panna cotta with berries. Desserts featuring raspberries, strawberries or rose flavours also echo the floral character of the drink. The subtle bitterness of coffee and tonic water prevents the pairing from becoming overly sweet. Macarons, almond pastries or a light cheesecake with citrus fruits are equally suitable. Small amounts of dark chocolate can also provide an exciting addition, as they deepen the roasted aromas of the cold brew.
The Right Occasion
The Monin Coffee G&T is ideal for a modern apéro, a stylish cocktail party or a summer evening on the terrace. Its refreshing character makes it suitable for serving before a meal, while the coffee and gin notes provide enough depth for a later moment of enjoyment. The drink also offers a surprising alternative to a classic gin and tonic at brunches, garden parties or relaxed dinners. You can serve it with small apéro bites, a light starter or a refined dessert.
Garnish and Presentation
For an elegant presentation, serve the Monin Coffee G&T in a well-chilled tumbler, highball glass or slender cocktail glass. The delicate foam should remain visible and only be garnished sparingly. A thin strip of lime zest, a dried lime slice or a few edible rose petals are particularly suitable. A small sprig of rosemary or a touch of finely grated lime zest can also highlight the botanical and fresh notes of the drink.
