Kisag AG stands for innovative, sensible and high-quality products which make cooking and working in the kitchen easier. Our assortment ranges from professional appliances for the ambitious chef, through to kitchen helpers for people who like to experiment. We also operate as a manufacturer and supplier for several OEMs and customer labels of major distributors. Our success story began 80 years ago with the invention of the “Kisag whipper”. Kisag AG is now an internationally active company with branded products of Swiss quality that are known far beyond the country’s borders. As part of the VEBO Group, we have a high level of social responsibility and work together with various local companies which offer sheltered employment. In addition to inclusion, the factor of sustainability also plays a key role for us. When developing our products, we therefore prioritise the environmentally-friendly selection of materials and production, as well as the subsequent disposal and recycling.

Production in Switzerland

Kisag stands by the production location of Switzerland and is convinced that it can be maintained with high-quality, innovative products and a first-rate price-performance ratio. The company now works with some 100 suppliers from Switzerland, Europe and other countries. The assembly of individual parts for appliances such as mixers or gas burners for fondue rechauds continues to be carried out at the facilities of the company in Bellach. Just like the series production of many kitchen utensils and the development of our products. This is very important, because it is the only way to ensure the consistently high quality of our products.

Sustainability

As a production location, Switzerland not only functions as a clear seal of quality, but is also of decisive importance for our CO2 balance, as we can avoid extensive import and transport routes as far as possible. A conscious, resource-saving approach to the environment is a matter of course for us. For this reason, 100% of the total electricity consumption of Kisag is covered by Swiss hydro power

All Kisag products are shipped directly from our warehouse in Bellach. This ensures close proximity to our customers, short delivery routes, fast response times, and maximum reliability. Centralized warehousing allows us to maintain full control over quality and availability. Our customers benefit from Swiss efficiency, personalized service, and high flexibility - every single day.

Our history

Behind the foundation of Kisag AG was a creative mind with a strong pioneering spirit. When Walter Kissling founded Kisag AG in Bellach, Solothurn, Switzerland in the year 1945, he had no idea that his innovative ideas would have a lasting impact on life in many Swiss households over several generations.

Walter Kissling started out recycling aluminium waste to produce pure aluminium. He used this, in turn, for product developments in the household area. In the adjoining foundry, the entrepreneur manufactured cutters for French fries, fruit presses, potato peelers and thin-walled cast aluminium pans. At that time, when the technology in the field of kitchen appliances was still in its infancy, this was a real high-tech product.

Thanks to the inventive talent of Kissling, further new developments soon followed: In the early 1950s, the production of pressure cookers with patented pressure relief valves began. Among other developments, this was followed by frying pans with built-in thermometers, the Kisag whipper, which was patented in 1958 for the production of whipped cream with a charger system that was developed in-house, and a patented gas burner for rechauds and laboratories.

The whippers quickly became a best seller and have sold millions of units every decade since. For many people, this saw the "Kisag whipper" becoming the epitome of the whipper. This product line - due to its wide range of applications in the kitchen - remains an important divison of Kisag to this day. In addion to metal products, the use of plastics was increased, and the range of Kisag was extended to include can openers, spoons, peelers, dough scrapers and several additional practical kitchen helpers. Kisag now exports its products to some 20 different countries, ans alos manufactures for other well-known brands as an OEM manufacturer.

At the beginning of the 1980s, the familiy business launched by Walter Kissling 80 years ago was taken over by Albert Brüngger and continued to be managed in the second generation by Urs Brüngger. With the sale of Kisag to VEBO cooperative foundation, an optimum succession arrangement was found for every party in 2017. Ever since, Kisag has continued to operate unchanged, and all the local jobs have been retained.

Social Responsibility

Boosting disability inclusion in kitchen appliance manufacturing

We have been actively committed to the training and occupational inclusion of people with disabilities for many years. Following the takeover of Kisag AG by the VEBO cooperative foundtion in 2017, we have been able to create new synergies. Our goal is to create more jobs in the production, assembly and fabrication of those kitchen appliances that are suitable for manufacturing in sheltered workshops, and to continue doing so in the future. This will help improve the chances of and make it easier for more people who suffer from mental or physical disabilities to enter the labour market.
